I just want to look put together, without spending a lot of money, and by using pieces that are versatile with lots of what's already in my closet. Is that too much to ask? Nope! And that's where my new Outfit of the Month comes in (OOTM)!!! Each month (maybe more frequently if time permits) I'll put together an outfit that is affordable (everything for as close to $100 as I can get it), comfortable, versatile and (I think) cute that's been put through my testing process of washing and wearing. After all, if you can't wear it again after you wash it, does it really matter how inexpensive it was?! If it passes my standards, I'll share it with you!
The main focus of November's outfit is the faux leather (rockstar) leggings. I'd wanted a pair for awhile now...but wasn't excited about paying the $100 price tag for some of the brand name ones you find in department stores. I found these TAGOO faux leather leggings on Amazon and they're just great. Comfortable, warm, odor-free, easy to wash (just make sure to hang dry) and oh-so-cute. They're high-waisted too so all us mamas look hot to trot in them. I'm wearing a small and they are plenty roomy. (Right now as I type this they're on sale for just $21!!!)
The Hount tunic is a warm, soft and versatile top for fall. It comes in several colors and goes with jeans or leggings. Layer it under a vest or by itself. I've washed mine several times and so far no pilling (those annoying little balls you sometimes find on your clothing after several wears and washes)! It has pockets too and the cowl neck blocks the chilly fall and winter wind. Mine is grey in a small.
My camo sneakers are from Target by Mad Love. They fit TTS and have a soft cushy sole - I wear them everywhere, mostly sock-free, and have never gotten a blister or even a sore spot while wearing them. And since camo is a new neutral - they go with so many other outfits too! They are $22.99.
Who doesn't love a classic jean jacket? This one is from Old Navy. I got it for $15 during their mega jean jacket sale...but I've worn it so much even the normal $34 price tag makes it worth the purchase. If you want to layer a lot under or wear it buttoned...you might consider going up a size. I'm wearing a small and can wear lighter shirts underneath no problem. Old Navy is famous for amazing sales, so keep an eye out for the price to drop. As always....if that $15 deal hits again you'll for sure find it on Happy Place Deals! (Right now it's on sale for $24!!!)
Another benefit of this particular OOTM, is it holds up to my "active mom life." Here's to seeing you out and about looking like the rockstar moms you all are! Till next month!
